What is Ergonomics?
- Ergonomics is the science of designing equipment, tools, workplaces and tasks to accommodate the
worker, reduce discomfort and injuries, improve ease of use and increase productivity.
- Ergonomics focuses on the interface between workers and their tools, tasks, workstations and the
environment. It is the totality of these interactions that ergonomists work to optimize.
- Successful Ergonomics programs have major impacts on incidence rates for repetitive trauma
injuries and illness.
